Accessible only by those willing to journey up a 1.2 mile steep mountain road, The Domestead is a place that changes with the seasons and offers something different each time you visit. Getting here is not always easy, whether you're winding up the forested road in summer or navigating snow-packed trails in winter, getting here is part of what makes the experience so special.

Winter Access

The road, from bottom to top, is very well maintained and sloped all year round, but winter access to The Domestead depends on snow conditions and mountain weather.

When conditions allow, guests may drive all the way to the dome in a AWD or 4WD vehicle (required). As of 1/7/26 snow tires have not been required but conditions can change quickly so please plan accordingly.

After snowfall, vehicle access may be temporarily restricted for safety. During these times, guests may access The Domestead by walking, hiking on packed snow, or snowshoeing along the access road. Snowshoes are provided when needed, and this approach is part of the quiet, immersive winter experience.

For added convenience, host-assisted transportation can be made available for an additional fee using a tracked ATV or snowmobile, depending on conditions. This service can transport guests and/or gear and must be reserved in advance.

We have been accessing the Domestead for many years in all types of conditions, we closely monitor conditions and will communicate with you before arrival to help determine the best and safest access option.

Summer & Shoulder Season

Access In snow-free months, The Domestead is easily accessible by vehicle. Guests may also choose to hike the dome if they wish.

Our stay at the Domestead was incredible. The views were truly next-level and the space is so comfortable and thoughtfully set up. It was easy to settle in and just relax. It was exactly the kind of unique, quiet, nature-filled getaway we were looking for. Paul was a great host. He was super responsive, gave us awesome restaurant recommendations and clearly cared that we had a good time. They were also very welcoming to our dog which we really appreciated. We’ll definitely be coming back.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Domestead. While the listing mentions “glamping,” it truly felt like the best of both worlds—immersed in nature like a tent experience, but with the comfort and amenities of a modern home. The views from the dome are beautiful, and the sense of seclusion made it feel like a true getaway. It was quiet, peaceful, and a great place to slow down and recharge. We especially loved the heated floors—they made the space feel warm and comfortable. One of the most memorable parts of the stay was hearing the rain on the dome at night—it had the cozy, nostalgic sound of rain on a tent, but without any of the worry of getting wet. Mornings were just as special, watching the fog roll through the valley and slowly rise up and over the dome. It made for an incredibly peaceful and unique experience. Paul was a great host—communication was clear and timely. We would absolutely recommend for a unique and peaceful retreat.

Two nights at The Domestead and this place exceeded every expectation. If you're looking for a secluded, thoughtful getaway, stop scrolling. Paul's communication was exceptional from the moment we booked. His recommendations were spot on and you can feel how much pride he takes in this property. That energy carries through every corner of it. The dome is stunning. Incredible views, fully stocked kitchen, and honestly everything was thought of. We usually pack "just in case" essentials because most places miss the little things. We didn't need any of it. Highlight of the trip: driving down to town near sunset and spotting a pack of elk coming up the ravine. That moment alone told us we made the right call. This is our favorite mountain town and The Domestead is now a permanent part of why we keep coming back. We'll be back this summer to float the river. Paul, thank you. 10/10 without hesitation

I cannot recommend this location enough! It was an amazing escape from the business of normal life. Fantastic space, gorgeous views, and a cozy atmosphere made us right at home. Thank you so much Paul for being proactive and responsive with directions and answering questions super quickly. We will definitely be back as soon as we can get time off!

The Domestead was a relaxing weekend getaway! The view from the property over the surrounding town was amazing. It was great to see the sunset on the back porch sitting around the fire pit.

We had a fantastic last minute getaway at Paul’s Domestead! We booked the same day we would arrive and Paul responded immediately confirming and providing instructions. Probably the best communication I’ve experienced on Airbnb! Wow! What an amazing place. We loved the uniqueness but mostly the location. We saw countless elk and deer. Just sit back, relax, enjoy the view and the wildlife.

We loved our stay at the Domestead! You could tell Paul and Bobbi put a lot of hard work and love into it, it was fully kitted out with anything you could need. Including heated floors! They were fabulous hosts and it was truly a perfect little trip to get out in nature while keeping some of our creature comforts. I would absolutely recommend!

Managed to book this as a quick last minute weekend trip and I am so thrilled I did! There was a very minor hiccup at the start of the trip (no fault of his own) but Paul was so attentive and friendly and fixed it immediately. The place itself is stunning. Beautiful flooring (paired with heat) that made the place feel extra luxurious. I’ve stayed in domes before, but this one blows the others out of the water. No comparison what so ever. The interior of the dome is beautiful, but the view is absolutely insane. The property had a nice stream running through it and lots of trails for my dogs to enjoy. My boyfriend also found a nice shed from a buck, which is always a fun find. We were met with a herd of deer in the morning during our walk as well. The location is perfect: secluded but not far from town. And it’s a quick drive to one of my favorite hotsprings in the area!

The Domestead does not disappoint! It is super secluded surrounded by Forrest and you can't hear any traffic noise or even just general human noise but it's only also only a quick (but steep) 5min drive from restaurants, a grocery store and even a pharmacy! We couldn't have wished for a better host! He was super quick to respond and always super friendly! We will be back for sure

Amazing location!!! My husband and I have been renting Airbnbs for the last ten years and this is by far one of the most amazing sites we've ever stayed at. Minutes from the small town of Crouch, Idaho, this airbnb is close enough to town, but completely private and a peaceful mountain setting. The host was super responsive and very kind. The airbnb was stocked with everything you could imagine, and ever need. We love the word burning stove, the amazing views and the luxury accommodations. No expense was spared when creating this get away location. If you're looking for a one of a kind stay that you'll be talking about for years, this is the place to go!

What a unique and peaceful property! I can’t say enough good things about Paul’s hospitality. He really made sure that we had everything we needed and more. The dome was extremely cozy and the views were incredible! The road to get there was very manageable and the small town of Crouch was very close for shopping and restaurants. Highly recommend for a getaway from reality and being one with nature.

Paul and Bobbi’s Domestead was an amazing getaway! The property is incredibly peaceful and beautifully maintained, with breathtaking views all around. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind, and we loved having dinner at some nice restaurants nearby. Paul and Bobbi were fantastic, very responsive hosts who made everything easy and enjoyable. It was a wonderful spot to ring in the New Year, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We would absolutely stay here again!
